Albany Bistro is located in the Historic Albany District of Decatur, AL. The restaurant occupies a building that is rich in history and charm combining modern comfort with classic taste. Inside you will find a collection of unique chandeliers hanging from the original punched tin ceiling. The original exposed brick wall, marble tile and hand craved mantel add warmth to the dining room.
Albany Bistro is the perfect spot for an intimate dinner for two. We also have tables that will accommodate parties of 8-20. The award winning patio at Albany Bistro is the perfect place to share a relaxing afternoon with friends and a glass of wine.
Albany Bistro offers a full service menu for lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. Our well balanced wine list and seasonal martinis will appeal to almost any palate. We make all of our desserts fresh daily. An ever-changing menu that includes seasonal, locally grown, sustainable ingredients will keep you coming back.
Chef Jakob Reed comes from a very large family in rural Alabama. Although he has never been to culinary school, the culinary skills he learned from his mother and grandmother were instrumental in his climb up the ladder of one of Nashville's fine dining restaurant groups. He started in the casual dining area, and with perseverance and home grown values, eventually became part of the management team at Merchants.
Located in the historic Albany district of Decatur, Alabama, the place Jake now owns was a favorite stop on his visits home. When the opportunity arose to acquire his favorite place, Albany Bistro was born. Chef Jakob combines a home grown approach to local foods with a nod to the future of southern cuisine. He invites you to pull up a chair and stay for while.
