Our Table is a cooperative of farmers, producers, and customers working together to create handcrafted, thoughtful, and delicious food for the local community. Exactly fifteen miles from Powell’s Books, the home of Our Table is a 58-acre farm in Sherwood, Oregon where Certified Organic fruit, vegetables, and flowers are grown. As a food and farm cooperative, we do everything from the growing and distribution, to the creation and enjoyment of our meals. From our fields and kitchen, our foods head into our on-farm grocery which offers a curated selection of dairy, produce, meat, health and wellness, dry goods, and prepared meals. A bulk section and a beer, wine, and growler station round out the offerings. The grocery is 80% Oregon sourced and 90% Organic with both vegan and gluten-free selections.
In 2011, Our Table founders Machelle and Narendra Varma purchased our farm in Sherwood. As stewards of the land, we are committed to practicing Permaculture and Biodynamic farming techniques. Our Table Cooperative complements this diversified and ecological relationship to the land. Incorporated in February of 2013, the cooperative consists of three membership classes: workers on our farm in Sherwood, other independent food producers from the region, and customers.
Our commitment is to restore transparency and solidarity to our local food system--starting with fair wages paid to farmers and extending to open customer communication about how food is produced. By cultivating these values, we are crafting a re-localized food network that allows everyone to have a communal investment in how we eat.
